The Benefits of Non-Comedogenic Products

Why should you choose to buy non-comedogenic products?

'Comedogenic' refers to the likelihood for a skincare ingredient to disrupt the skin barrier and lead to clogged pores. Clogged pores will lead to skin debris, sweat, and other build up in the pores which will most likely lead to a breakout. There are several ingredients that contain pore clogging ingredients, and to memorize them all would be quite the burden. So, the best option when searching for new skincare products is to simply search the name of the product and type in whether or not it is a non-comedogenic product. This will alleviate any stress when buying a new product and hoping it will not break your skin out with acne. Non-comedogenic products are the best option for skincare as they are made with ingredients that will not clog your pores. This is beneficial because the act of washing your face with a cleanser will remove all the sunscreen, makeup, and other products seamlessly without anything being trapped in your pores. With products that have pore clogging ingredients the simple act of washing your face will not wash away all of the product, leading to breakouts and a disrupted skin barrier.

At Biodermis, our premium-grade silicone is a non-comedogenic. The use of Pro-Sil, Episof, or any of our silicone sheeting will not clog your pores. Our products fight to balance out the oxygen in the area where the product is used and works to soothe and promote healing within the area. Episof works wonders when used as a makeup primer as it will create a smooth and silky base for your makeup to glide on. All of our products can be removed with a hypoallergenic soap or (if used on the face) can be washed off with face wash without any pores being clogged.
