October Breast Cancer Awareness

October Breast Cancer Awareness

Biodermis would like to recognize all of those who have been affected by breast cancer, whether this impact was from seeing the disease unravel with a loved one, or from personal experience battling the disease. We see you, and we want to recognize you this month. For the past thirty-eight years breast cancer awareness has been celebrated for a day, week-, or month-long event. Beginning in 1985, the first-year breast cancer awareness week occurred and was hosted by American Cancer Society, in partnership with Imperial Chemical Industries (This information is provided by Breastcancer.org).

Biodermis offers a variety of procedure specific configurations for managing post-surgical scars in both Epi-Derm and Epi-Derm Natural Silicone Gel Sheeting. We offer individual configurations, such as Areola Circles, Mastopexy Forms, and Areopexy (lolli-pop shape) forms for breast augmentation and breast reconstruction procedures. We also offer complete scar care packages, for the full regimen of post-operative scar treatment and recovery. We pride ourselves in knowing our specific configurations can help someone heal their scar site and have the comfort in knowing it is covering the exact areas of the scar site.

Scars typically change size, texture, and color as they heal and mature. Epi-Derm silicone sheets and Biodermis' other scar treatment products have been clinically proven to normalize pigmentation / improve discoloration and enhance the overall appearance and texture of both old and new scars. It does so by perfectly balancing oxygen and moisture levels.  This signals to the body to stop sending the site excess proteins that cause the skin in that spot to stay misshapen, hard, and contrasted so that the area can gradually normalize and blend.

If you have any questions on scar care assistance or which product would be best for you, please feel free to contact us at 702.260.4466. If you have any concerns such as when to start using silicone scar sheets, we always recommend consulting your doctor to have them look at your scar and make sure the wound is fully healed prior to silicone use. We look forward to helping you with your scar care needs and new scar care regimen!

We would like to celebrate all of those who are cancer survivors. We would like to honor you and your journey. From our hearts to yours have a wonderful month of October and a fabulous rest of 2023.
