Biggest Loser winner has tummy tuck to remove excess skin

Danny Cahill won the eighth season of reality weight-loss competition The Biggest Loser, having dropped a whopping 239 pounds, which was the most any winner of the show had ever lost.

Cahill lost the weight through a strict calorie management and exercise regiment, and as a result he shed 55.58 percent of his total weight that he began with. This is an amazing accomplishment, but like most individuals who go through the same experience, Cahill was left with excess skin.

He visited the set of daytime talk show The Doctors, and was presented with the opportunity to have cosmetic surgery performed by one of the hosts, Dr Drew Orton, who is also board-certified plastic surgeon. Dr Orton removed the excess skin from Cahill's chest and abdomen, helping to emphasize his new fit frame.

There are several procedures that can be done in order to remove excess skin, including laser lipo for those who only have a very small amount of skin to be removed, to a tummy tuck to remove large portions.

Cosmetic procedures sometimes leave scarring, but silicone ointment may help diminish the appearance of the marks if used over time.
