Scared by love, Ashton Kutcher could look to silicone treatment products

Burns, trip-and-fall accidents, medical procedures and plastic surgery can all leave unsightly scars on the skin's surface, often causing self-consciousness and uninvited stares.

Because many of the causes for scars are accidental or unforeseen, an individual is susceptible to the threat of these marks at any time.

For the boisterous actor Ashton Kutcher, a childhood romance unexpectedly took a turn for the worse, leaving him with a trauma scar and a memento of young love.

In a recent interview, the star of That 70's Show and The Butterfly Effect explained, "I was 12. I had an air rifle and there was this girl I really liked and I thought it would be romantic to give this girl this BB gun for Valentine's Day."

Kutcher continued, "I gave it to her and she shot me in the knee and I had to squeeze the pellet out and I still have the scar."

While Kutcher's trauma scar is easily concealed, other actors or professionals with careers that put them in the public spotlight may wish to pursue a form of scar healing to obscure the mark's appearance.

Silicone gel sheeting has been found to hydrate scars, hasten the scar healing process and improve the color and appearance of new or older abrasions.
