Breast augmentation surgery is most popular plastic surgery in Canada

A recent study has found that women in Canada, like those in the U.S., consider breast augmentation surgery four times more appealing than eye lifts, face lifts, and collagen implants. While popular, scarring complications from breast implants should lead any candidate to consider the use of silicone gel sheeting to reduce post-surgery scars.

The study, dubbed Canadian Women's Attitudes toward Breast Implants, falls in line with attitudes throughout North America, according to the Toronto Sun. The American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery recently released statistic that showed breast implants were performed 312,000 times last year in America, making it the most popular type of surgery.

The study also found that most women consider a C to be an ideal cup size. However, some plastic surgeons caution that women should reduce their expectations and consult with their doctor about any types of scarring complications that may occur.

"Make sure you can communicate what you want – big, small or natural. And have a realistic expectation," Dr. Frank Lista, a Canadian plastic surgeon, told the news source.
