Aspiring model can mask scars with silicone gel sheeting

Stacey Courage, 17, of Plymouth, England, was riding her bike in her home town when a speeding car forced her off the road. Thrown from her bicycle, she landed face-first in barbed wire. With multiple scars from the incident covering her neck, face, and chest, Courage could consider using silicone gel sheeting to reduce the appearance of her injuries.

Courage suffered 63 cuts that doctors say will take 6 months to heal, according to the Daily Mail. The teenager was hoping to become a model, but has now lost all confidence.

"The driver has ruined my life... they've ruined my face," she told the news source. "I don't even want to go out because I look really ugly."

Yet all is not lost for Courage. Although her scars are extensive, clinical studies in scar treatment have proven that silicone is an effective tool for masking and diminishing scars.
