Football injury results in emergency brain surgery

Kyle Ward began the football season like any other high school player. He was cornerback and small for his position, but was still being recruited by over 20 colleges and helping his team to victories.

According to the Pioneer Local, Ward collided with another player, and the impact left him somewhat disoriented. He went to the sideline, but wasn't displaying any signs of a concussion and was cleared to continue to play. At practice a few days later, he was involved in another hit, this time sending him to the hospital.

He suffered a subdural hematoma and had to undergo an emergency craniotomy.

He now has a scar in the middle of his head that trails down the back on his right side, but Ward still participates in athletics. Instead of returning to football he turned to track, where he immediately excelled, the news source reports.

After having a surgical procedure performed, a scar treatment product like silicone gel sheeting may help diminish the appearance of the mark that is left over as a result.ADNFCR-3015-ID-19918608-ADNFCR
