Plastic surgeons discuss innovations at annual convention

The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery met in Washington D.C. this weekend for their annual convention.

Surgeons from around the world attend the event, with the Washington Post reporting an attendance of over 2,000.

The Gaylord Hotel is transformed into an exhibition hall, where surgeons discuss the latest and best products, including silicone ointment for scar treatment, surgical instruments, and various types of implants.

The surgeons discussed everything from managing finances, rebounding after the economic downturn, and even practiced the latest techniques and innovations on cadavers in workshops. One popular topic was the psychology of patient treatment and the positive effects plastic surgery can have for one's outlook on life.

"Our patients say 'I feel so much better about myself after surgery,'" plastic surgeon Thomas Francel told the news source.

Plastic surgery is a rapidly growing industry both in the U.S. and in countries abroad like Brazil. Medical advancements have led to many different options for those who want to improve their appearance.

Despite this, the vast majority of procedures can still leave scars. But the purchase of silicone based scar treatment options can leave the patient feeling great again in no time.ADNFCR-3015-ID-19744876-ADNFCR
