Pectoral implants give men a more masculine appearance

Many are familiar with breast implant surgery for women to help enhance their chest size, but some plastic surgeons are noticing more men are opting for pectoral implants.

For some men, going to the gym regularly may not help them achieve the types of pecs they are striving for. However, there are procedures that help enhance their chest to give them the appearance they are seeking.

Dr Roy Kim is a cosmetic surgeon in San Francisco who has noticed an increase in men seeking his help in order to achieve the look they have worked so hard for.

"Pectoral implants give my male patients a defined chest and the appearance of firm pectoral muscles. These implants should not be confused with female breast implants. These are made of solid silicone which has been widely and safely in medicine for decades," said Dr Kim.

Before undergoing any form of cosmetic surgery, patients should have a consultation with their surgeon to determine if they are good candidate for the procedure. They should also be aware of side effects, such as recovery time and scarring.

Scar treatment products such as silicone gel sheeting or ointment may help diminish the appearance of scars that are the result of any form of surgery.
