Body lift surgery may not be for everyone

Body lift surgery is a multi-stage cosmetic procedure where the entire body is re-sculpted, returning it to its former self before pregnancy, weight loss and aging changed it.

The entire lift can be done in separate procedures, because patients may only want one specific region addressed. Plastic surgeons are able to focus on one area like arms, or the midsection, or they can do a full body lift that encompasses the lower, middle and upper sections of the body.

The procedure removes excess skin from the body and reshapes the areas where skin may be bulbous and hanging.

The procedure may take anywhere from three to seven hours.

Having that much cosmetic work done makes it likely that there will be scarring. Doctors often place incisions where underwear or bathing suits may cover them, but there are likely to be some scars regardless.

Individuals who undergo cosmetic procedures may know that scarring is an expected side effect of the surgery. The development of new scar treatment products could offer them comfort and a possible solution to their scars.

Silicone gel sheeting and ointments may be able to help reduce the appearance of scars that result from plastic surgery.ADNFCR-3015-ID-19842490-ADNFCR
