Parvin Hajihossini is a hairdresser from Queens, New York, who was recently attacked by a monkey that has left her permanently scarred, The New York Daily News reports.

Hajihossini was taking pictures of Benjamin, the pet monkey of hotelier Allen Hirsch, when the animal jumped from his cage and attacked her. She was a guest at Hirsch's bed and breakfast when the assault occurred.

"They certainly didn't expect this, to be bitten by a monkey who wasn't properly guarded," Hajihossini's attorney Richard Ancowitz told the news source.

His client has been left with a long scar that goes down her left cheek, and has been depressed and embarrassed to be seen in public because of the mark.

Hirsch and his monkey have since disappeared, with the Daily News reporting that he may be in South America for work and is not commenting on the incident.

Scar treatment products like silicone gel sheeting may help reduce the appearance of scars that are the result of an accident or procedure.ADNFCR-3015-ID-19935586-ADNFCR
