Laura Newsham was attacked by a complete stranger wielding a glass bottle, leaving her with a scar across her right cheek, The Lancashire Evening Post reports.

The teen was walking down the street with her friends when they encountered the man. He smashed a glass bottle against her face, resulting in 100 stitches and three hours of plastic surgery.

Newsham also suffered nerve damage in her upper lip and had to have her nose reset due to the blow she received from the bottle.

"I used to go out all the time with my friends and now I just feel ashamed because the scar looks ugly," she told the news source.

Law enforcement is still searching for the man who assaulted Newsham, saying he escaped on foot.
