Member of Parliament left with scar after surprise stabbing attack
Stephen Timms, a member of the British Parliament, was recently stabbed twice by a woman he was meeting with in East London. After emergency surgery, he is recovering in a London hospital. The surgery will most likely leave a scar, which can be reduced through the use of silicone gel sheeting.
Earlier in the day, Timms was in a different kind of surgery. In British politics, a "constituency surgery" is a one-on-one meeting between an elected official and a regular citizen. The official typically tries to address the citizen's concerns in a private setting.
Timms was meeting with Roshonda Choudhary of East Ham when she pulled out a knife and stabbed him twice in the stomach. No motivation has been given for the crime.
Timms is a respected member of the Labour party and the former Treasury Minister for the United Kingdom.
Violent punctures of the skin often leave large scars, even after surgery. Thanks to silicone-based scar treatment products, such blemishes can be masked and hidden.
Choudhary is in custody and will appear in court on June 1st.
