Martyn Phelps recently had pieces of glass removed from his eyes after an altercation that involved him being struck in the face, which resulted in his eyeglasses breaking.

The South Wales Argus reports that Phelps got into a dispute with Gareth Way back in January of this year, but when the two ran into each other recently tensions were still high. They were at the same pub when Way struck Phelps in the face with a single punch, breaking his glasses and fracturing his cheekbone.

The act was caught on camera, showing Way casually walk away after striking Phelps, who had to be taken to the hospital to receive treatment and stitches for his injuries. Phelps is now unable to blink his right eye because of the scar tissue that formed because due to the assault.

Way pleaded guilty to inflicting grievous bodily harm and was sentenced to 24 week in prison, a fine and 80 our of community service.

The use of scar treatment products such as silicone gel sheeting or ointment may help reduce the appearance of marks that are the result of an attack or surgical procedure.
