John Schnorr is 25 years old and has been through quite the ordeal, but, after surviving cancer at such a young age, he has many things to look forward to, The Herald Times Reporter reports.

Schnorr is quick to give credit to his team of doctors and his wife for being the ones who helped him through his battle with testicular cancer, according to the news provider.

After doctors determined he would need to go through surgery and chemotherapy treatments, he underwent a procedure which resulted in having 23 lymph nodes removed from his body as a precaution.

"That left about an 18-inch scar down the center of my chest, and it took 95 staples to close the incision," he told the news source. "It looked like I was Frankenstein, but I liked showing it to people."

Schnorr now goes back for his yearly checkups to make sure the cancer hasn't returned. He encourages other men who may have similar symptoms to go get checked out immediately, rather than hesitate.

Surgical procedures and treatment can be scary, but scars may not be as permanent as they once were. Thanks to improvements in scar treatment products, patients have one less thing to worry about.

With the use of silicone ointments or gels, patients may see a reduction in the appearance of their scars and an improvement in their self-esteem.ADNFCR-3015-ID-19910817-ADNFCR
