Pit bull scars two-year-old girl's face

A little girl has been left with severe facial scars following a dog attack, according to WRAL News.

Tasheka Laquon Beatty, who had been looking after the pit bull for a friend, said that the animal unexpectedly turned on her two-year-old daughter Latalya and bit her in the face. The dog then went after the child's father.

"The dog was laying down asleep. My little girl got out of bed and went to the dog and that's when he grabbed her," Beatty told the news source. "That's what woke me up."

She shot the dog and left it in the yard overnight while she took her daughter to the hospital. The next day, when she called police to remove the animal, they discovered that it was still alive and charged Beatty with animal cruelty.

DogBiteLaw.com reports that pit bulls, Rottweilers and Presa Canarios are responsible for 68 percent of all attacks on children.

Silicone gel ointment may be a useful scar treatment method for kids who sustain injuries from these incidents.
