Nightclub brawl scars innocent man who was hit with a beer bottle
A bar fight in Rockhampton, UK, has resulted in permanent scars for one innocent bystander who was hit in the head with a bottle, the Morning Bulletin reports.
Finn MacKenzie, 21, was standing just a few away when two men began brawling. A woman nearby threw a beer bottle at the men, but she missed and hit MacKenzie instead. The glass left a deep gash on the left side of his forehead.
"I felt my head and the blood was just streaming out," MacKenzie told the news source. "This was just an act of stupidity."
Several bouncers and staff members helped him to a quiet area while waiting for the ambulance to arrive. At the hospital, doctors glued his wound to reduce the scarring that would occur after nine or 10 stitches.
The Marin Institute reports that in 45 percent of cases of interpersonal violence between men, the participants had been drinking.
Facial scars that result from such incidents may be reduced through the use of silicone gel sheeting.
