Mini facelift offers same result in less time

Facelift surgeries have provided women and men with a way to wind back the clock and regain their youthful looks, but it comes with a price.

Most often a traditional facelift requires an invasive procedure and incisions being made, and the recovery time can be lengthy depending on the patient. But now those who would like to look more fresh-faced without significant setbacks may opt for a mini facelift.

"The mini facelift is a happy medium between traditional facelifts and non-surgical injections," said Dr Steven Shu. "A mini facelift offers the similar results as a traditional facelift, except with less discomfort and downtime."

The mini facelift can offer dramatic results, especially for those who show more advanced signs of aging. Sagging skin would require a facelift, unlike Botox, which is only useful for those who would like to erase wrinkles and lines.

Undergoing a cosmetic procedure may result in some light scarring along the skin where incisions were made, but the use of silicone gel sheeting may help reduce the appearance of those marks over time.
