Baby boomers opting for facelifts
Los Angeles plastic surgeon Dr Grant Stevens has noticed an increase in patients over the age of 50 coming into his office looking for ways to freshen up their appearance.
As people begin to age, they may seek out treatments or solutions in order to look and feel young again. Dr Stevens says that individuals over the age of 50 are not only seeking traditional cosmetic procedures, but they're starting to warm up to non-surgical treatments as well.
"As Baby Boomers reach the age where they're starting to consider a few cosmetic touch-ups, they are turning toward rejuvenation procedures for the face, breasts and body," explains Dr Stevens. "Perhaps because there are so many people in this generation, our practice is seeing a steady increase in the number of people who want to look and feel their best during their Golden Years."
Some patients may opt for traditional facelifts, while others have begun to use botox and other dermal fillers.
Cosmetic procedures may leave a scar, but the use of scar treatment products such as silicone gel or ointment may help reduce the appearance of the marks.
