Actress Heigl's baby has scar after open heart surgery

Actress Katherine Heigl and singer Josh Kelley's new adopted baby, Naleigh, has been left with a scar after undergoing open heart surgery. Many Americans have been left with similar scars after surgery, which can be effectively diminished through the use of silicone-based scar treatment products.

Naleigh, 18 months, was adopted from Korea in September of last year. Heigl explained to Harper's Bazaar that the couple was able to adopt the baby quickly because of her status as "special needs."

That need was a congenital heart defect that Naleigh was born with. Before the baby left Korea, she underwent surgery to repair the problem.

"Her heart is 100 percent fine now. She has a scar, so she won't be wearing bikinis, which is fine by us," Heigl told the news source.

However, people with scars don't necessarily need to change the way they dress. By using silicone ointments or gel sheeting, they can mask the appearance of scars.

That's good news for baby Naleigh. But if Heigl sticks to her promises, her life won't be all roses.

"I don't want her to have a Beemer on her 16th birthday or spend the summer at a beach house with friends," she told the news source. "Nope. You want a beach house, you pay for it."ADNFCR-3015-ID-19792808-ADNFCR
