A resident of Jefferson County, Texas recently filed a lawsuit against two drivers who allegedly rear-ended him on a stretch of Highway 69 two years ago, the Southeast Texas Record reports.

"Defendant Miranda Bailey failed to control her speed and violently rear-ended Defendant Tamika Patterson," the suit stated, quoted by the news source. "Defendant Tamika Patterson failed to control her speed and violently rear-ended the Plaintiff, Miguel Dicario."

The multi-car accident resulted in physical pain and permanent scarring for DiCario, who adds that his earning capacity and mental health have also been adversely affected.

He said that the defendants negligently failed to keep a proper lookout and drove too fast to avoid colliding with him. He is seeking compensation for exemplary damages and medical costs that resulted from the car accident.

According to Census.gov, the number of motor vehicle accidents decreased from 17.9 million in 1980 to 10.6 million in 2007.

Individuals who sustain injuries from traffic accidents may benefit from the use of silicone gel sheeting to reduce the appearance of any trauma scars.
