Ex-Playboy Playmate shoots husband, leaves him with permanent scar
The husband of a former Playboy Playmate has been left with a four-inch scar after his wife of 25 years shot him in their Hollywood apartment, according to Daily Breeze.
Bruce Rathgeb said that he was leaving the couple's home following an argument in which his spouse accused him of being unfaithful. He was waiting for the elevator in their building when he saw Victoria Rathgeb emerge from their apartment with the gun.
"Quickly she just aimed and fired at me," he said, quoted by the news source.
Rathgeb added that he passed out and later woke up in the hospital, where doctors performed surgery in an attempt to remove the bullet from his left pectoral muscle. Unfortunately, due to its proximity to his heart, they were unsuccessful. During the scar healing process, Rathgeb said that he experienced difficulty in moving the fingers on his left hand.
The Commission on Domestic Violence reports that 3 percent of nonfatal violence against men were committed by an intimate partner.
Scars that are sustained from such incidents may be treated with silicone ointment, which can reduce their appearance.
