Stefano Langone was the victim of a drunk driver, Jacob Sheppard, who collided with the singer's car in 2009. The incident left Langone with severe injuries, including two broken arms and a fractured pelvis.
Sheppard admitted to drinking beer and doing shots before he got behind the wheel. He was charged with two counts of vehicular assault and spent more than one year in jail, thanks to a lawsuit that was filed by Langone in April of last year.
Mothers Against Drunk Driving reports that an estimated one in three people will be involved in a drunk driving accident in their lifetime. Car crashes are the leading cause of death among teenagers, and one out of three of these incidents involves alcohol.
