College student suffers second-degree burns during Youtube prank
There are a number of clips on the popular video-sharing website Youtube that feature a group of young adults harassing fast food employees working the drive-through window, but one prank in particular took a drastic turn in Roseville, California, ABC affiliate News 10 reports.
David Almas was working at the Boston Market drive-through when teenagers pulled up to the window and ordered one can of creamed spinach.
"I rang them up for their creamed spinach and handed them their meal," Almas told the news source. "I was taking another order when I heard 'fire in the hole' and the next thing I know I have spinach on the side of my face."
As it turns out, Boston Market's creamed spinach is served at 180 degrees. When Almas was struck with the food, it entered his ear and left blisters on his cheek and neck. Doctors have informed him that the scars from the injury would be permanent.
BurnSurvivor.com reports that there are about 2.4 million reported burn victims every year, with 650,000 receiving medical attention for their injuries.
While these traumatic events can leave scars, victims may be able to help them fade by applying silicone ointment to the injury. This can allow those who have suffered a burn lead a healthy and happy life.
