Burn scars will not keep teen from thriving
At 14 months old, Chantelle Ryan endured pain that many people will never feel in their entire life. A fire ripped through her house, trapping her after a burning ceiling tile fell on top of her, The Burnley Express reports.
Ryan is now 14 years old and thriving, having accepted her burn scars.
Though some people taunt her, she does not let the name calling have a negative impact on her.
"When I get on the bus, some people call me names because of the scars on my face but they need to get over themselves," she told the news source.
Individuals who have been badly burned may experience scarring that is often treated through surgical procedures. With new developments in scar removal treatment, some alternatives might assist in their recovery as well.
Silicone gel sheeting and ointments may help diminish the appearance of scars and may also assist with the healing process of the skin.
