Argentine soccer star Maradona may soon seek scar treatment after dog bite
Diego Maradona, the Argentine soccer star who recently tied with the legendary Pele for the title of FIFA Player of the Century, has reportedly undergone cosmetic surgery to repair damage done to his face when he was attacked by one of his dogs last month.
Maradona was playing with his dogs when one leapt on him and bit deeply into his upper lip.
The 49-year old, who now serves as the coach for Argentina's national soccer team, went under the knife earlier in the week before being discharged on Tuesday night. He is expected to make a full recovery.
"He had a simple lesions and had surgery for about half an hour," Julio Jiminez, the administrator of the hospital that treated Maradona, said in an interview with Business Week. "There's no problem. He was walking and left with his girlfriend."
Though the surgery successfully repaired the damage, the controversial soccer legend will likely retain a facial scar from the incident. People suffering from facial scars might consider investing in scar treatments like silicone gel sheeting, which can help reduce the image of surgical and trauma scars.
