Plastic surgery innovation allows for hands-free breast augmentation

One of the drawbacks that women frequently cite in not opting to get breast augmentation surgery is the pain and scars that can be left from the procedure.

Scars can be treated with the use of silicone gel sheeting or other silicone-based products. But a new breakthrough may help with the pain during surgery.

Dubbed the "Keller Funnel," the product is a new surgical tool that allows a surgeon to place a small tube inside the incision and push the breast implant in place, without using the normal technique of direct contact.

Cutting out the surgeon's own hand has a variety of benefits, including a smaller incision, lighter force on the patient, and a quicker surgery.

Some surgeons have already adopted the tool. Despite this, surgery with the funnel still leave the traditional breast augmentation scars.

Women who opt for surgery using the Keller Funnel in conjunction with silicone gel sheeting could have a pain free surgery with heavily reduced scars after. That's one less reason not to get plastic surgery.
